Comfort & Fit
Comfortable shoes begin with a good fit. Because only when the shape, width, footbed, and materials match the foot can a pleasant wearing experience arise. At Sioux, this claim has always been part of the development and manufacturing of shoes – especially with the characteristic moccasin.
What makes shoes comfortable?
Wearing comfort results from the interplay of many details. High-quality and supple materials can pleasantly adapt to the foot, while a carefully developed last shape provides the appropriate foundation. Equally important are a flexible sole construction and a manufacturing process that creates as few disruptive pressure points as possible.
At Sioux, traditional [types of construction] like the moccasin construction play a special role. Many steps are performed by hand and contribute to achieving the desired flexibility and fit.
Fit, Width, and Footbed
A comfortable shoe should neither pinch nor leave too much room for the foot. In addition to the correct shoe size, the appropriate width is therefore also crucial. You can find out more under [Shoe widths at Sioux].
The footbed also influences the wearing comfort. In many models, it can be removed and, if necessary, replaced with your own insoles. An overview can be found under [Shoes with removable footbeds].
Wearing Comfort in Everyday Life
Good fit is particularly evident after several hours: The shoe should guide the foot securely without unpleasantly constricting it. Supple leather, flexible constructions, and careful craftsmanship support a natural and pleasant walking sensation.
Comfort at Sioux is therefore not a single characteristic, but the result of fit, material, construction, and artisanal experience.
