The Assembly Department

In the assembly department, prepared individual parts are turned into a finished shoe. Here, the upper and the sole are permanently joined together. This step is a central part of shoe manufacturing, as it determines how the shoe will fit later, how stable it will be, and how comfortable it will feel when walking.

From Individual Parts to a Shoe

Before a shoe is assembled, several departments have already performed important preparatory work. In the [model development] department, the foundation for the shape, fit, and appearance is created. In the [stamping room], the leather parts are cut, and in the [stitching room], the upper is made from these parts.

In the assembly department, these components come together. The upper is pulled over the [shoe last] to give it its final shape. Through heat, pressure, and skilled craftsmanship, the upper is carefully brought into shape. This creates the connection between artisanal precision and the desired fit.

Precision in Shoe Manufacturing

Assembling shoes requires experience, a keen eye, and very precise work. The upper must sit perfectly before the sole is attached. Even small deviations can affect the shape, comfort, and durability.

Manual Inspection Before Finishing

After assembly, the last is removed from the shoe. The shoe is then carefully inspected: the fit, workmanship, the connection between the upper and the sole, and any potential irregularities are checked.

Only then does the shoe go to the [finishing]. There, it receives its final care, optical refinement, and last quality control. This is how precise shoe production results in a finished Sioux shoe with artisanal standards.
